Unwind Axis Machine – Contraindications & Safety Guidelines

Absolute Contraindications

Do not use the Unwind Axis Machine if you have any of the following conditions:

1. Spinal instability or fracture (acute or healing)

2. Severe osteoporosis or advanced bone fragility

3. Recent spinal surgery (fusion, laminectomy, disc replacement, etc.)

4. Unstable disc herniation or acute disc rupture

5. Severe cardiovascular disease (uncontrolled hypertension, aneurysm, advanced heart failure)

6. Severe glaucoma, retinal detachment, or recent eye surgery

7. Intracranial hypertension or known aneurysm

8. Uncontrolled vertigo, inner ear disorders, or severe balance dysfunction

9. Active deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or history of pulmonary embolism

10. Pregnancy (especially 2nd and 3rd trimester)

11. Active infection, tumor, or cancer in the spine or brain

12. Severe obesity exceeding the machine’s rated capacity (weight limit)

13. Open wounds, unhealed fractures, or recent traumatic injury

14. Active seizure disorder uncontrolled by medication

Relative Contraindications (Use with Caution)

Consult a licensed healthcare provider before use if you have:

1. Mild to moderate osteopenia

2. Controlled hypertension or other cardiovascular conditions

3. Diabetes with peripheral neuropathy or impaired healing

4. Chronic migraines or vestibular disorders

5. Mild scoliosis or kyphosis

6. Joint hypermobility syndromes (e.g., Ehlers–Danlos)

7. Chronic inflammatory diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis)

8. Metal implants, rods, or hardware in the spine or hips

9. Recent surgery (clearance required after healing)

10. Chronic pain syndromes (fibromyalgia, CRPS) where overstimulation may worsen symptoms

Precautions During Use

1. Inspect the device before each session (bolts, straps, bearings, weight limits).

2. Do not operate without supervision during initial sessions.

3. Remove jewelry, belts, loose items, and secure long hair.

4. Limit initial sessions to 2–3 minutes to assess tolerance.

5. Increase duration and intensity gradually under supervision.

6. Stop use immediately if you experience:

Sharp or radiating pain

Dizziness, faintness, or loss of consciousness

Nausea or vomiting

Visual disturbances

Severe anxiety or panic response
